260 women from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, together with some Filipino balikbayan attended the GCI National Women’s Conference on May 12-14, 2017.  The conference theme“A Beautiful Life” celebrate the women’s journey in Christ, our Awesome God. This event took place at Grand Men Seng Hotel, Davao City.  The conference opened with welcome remarks given by ND Eugene Guzon and wife Lulu, respectively.  A video message of Tammy Tkach encouraged the women with the message, “Let Go, and Let God”.  Speakers on day 1 also included Alicia Davis, who spoke about “Inner Life, Outer Life:  to know and be known”, and Marge Bahinting who encouraged the women with her topic, “PRETTY Life”.  After their respective talks, Marge and Alicia conducted the Lord’s Supper.

The national director's wife, Lulu Guzon welcomes the ladies at the start of the Women's Conference.

On May 13, two guest speakers inspired the women with their messages and the sharing of life lessons and experiences.  Leah Darwin, who has been serving as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) since 1977 and a faculty member of the Partners in Ministry (PIM) program at International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL) spoke about “Longings of a Feminine Heart” and “Things that Adorn my Faith Journey”.  The second speaker was Adette Purto, also known as “Coach A”.  She is Chairman/CEO of D’Cup Coffee Republic.  She is both a life coach and an entrepreneur.  Adette spoke on “Sharing the Beautiful Journey” and “Pursuing the Beautiful Purpose”.  The day was capped with a Ladies’ Night where entertainment, dance, games and a lot of laughter were shared among long-time friends and new acquaintances.  The conference was made even more special with the celebration of Mother’s Day.

Visayas Asst. Area Supt. Margie Bahinting with Odyssey in Christ team member Alicia Davis led the ladies during communion service.

On May 14, a day tour of Davao City gave the women more bonding opportunities as they went sight-seeing and shopping together.  Some attendees came with their families and spent an extra day or two on an extended vacation.  Several women commented on how the conference refreshed and inspired them as they left for their respective homes.  We thank our GCI women and friends for their labor of love and an outpouring of support in various ways.  Most of all, we praise God for his generous blessings upon this conference. --Lulu Guzon
